For more than 25 years, TIPS (Training for Intervention Procedures) has been a global leader in education and training in the responsibile service, sale and consumption of alcohol.  TIPS is a skills-based training program designed to prevent intoxication, underage drinking and drunk driving.  By building on individuals' fundamental "people skills", TIPS provides the knowledge and confidence they need to recognize potential alcohol-related problems and how to effectively intervene to prevent alcohol-related tragedies. (from TIPS brochure)

The Coalition makes TIPS training available to Hillsdale County establishments.

TIPS training is appropriate for anyone who sells, serves, or consumes alcohol.  To ensure that training is relevant, programs are tailored for the following environments:

  • On Premise - restaurants, bars, hotels, and other establishments where alcohol is sold and consumed on the premises
  • Off Premise - grocery stores, liquor stores, convenience stores, etc.
  • University - groups such as athletes, Greek organizations, and residence halls.
